The Washington Capitals announced on Sunday that forward Pierre-Luc Dubois is expected to miss three to four months after having surgery to address injuries to his abdominal and adductor muscles.

Dubois last played on Oct. 31 against the New York Islanders, when he played 6:02 before exiting with a lower-body injury in the 3-1 loss.

He has appeared in just six games for Washington this season after missing six games with a separate lower-body injury. He has zero points this season.

Dubois is in the third season of an eight-year, $68 million contract with an AAV of $8.5 million.

The 27-year-old was acquired by the Capitals in June of 2024 from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

In his first season with Washington in 2024-25, he had a career-high 66 points in 82 games and scored 20 goals.
