The New Jersey Devils placed veteran defenceman Stefan Noesen on waivers Thursday.
The 33-year-old blueliner is without a point in two games this season while carrying a cap hit of $2.75 million as he approaches unrestricted free agency this summer.
Noesen was joined on waivers by San Jose Sharks forward Brett Leason and Chase Stillman of the Detroit Red Wings.
A first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2011, Noesen has 83 goals and 175 points over 484 career games. He was limited to 38 games last season, posting three assists and seven points.
Noesen enjoyed a career-best season in 2024-25 after first joining the Devils, posting 22 goals and 41 points.
The Devils are 1-2-0 to start the early season and will host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
