Anaheim Ducks star forward Cutter Gauthier was ruled out of their game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday after suffering an upper-body injury.

Gauthier departed early in the contest against Calgary, logging just 2:18 of ice time in five shifts before he headed for the locker room. The team later ruled him out with the injury.

The Ducks are off to a strong start this season, picking up wins in three of their first four contests - and Gauthier has been a strong part of that. The fourth-year winger has two goals and four points in four games.

Gauthier and teammate Leo Carlsson both hit major pay days in the off-season in Anaheim, as the two were locked up with long-term deals. The Ducks signed Carlsson to a five-year contract worth $90 million in response to an offer sheet from the Philadelphia Flyers in July, then signed Gauthier to a six-year deal worth $81 million in September.

The 22-year-old Gauthier has 63 goals and 118 points in 163 career NHL games with the Ducks. He set career highs in goals (41) and points (69) in a breakout campaign last season.
