Golden Knights’ McNabb to have hearing for hit on Poehling

Vegas Golden Knights defenceman Brayden McNabb will have a hearing Wednesday for his hit on Anaheim Ducks centre Ryan Poehling on Tuesday, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced.

McNabb received a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct.

McNabb slammed into Poehling with his shoulder and the brunt of the hit caused the back of Poehling’s head to hit the glass. He went to the ice and tried to stand, but was wobbly and went back down. He was helped off the ice to the locker room.

Anaheim ruled Poehling out for the remainder of the game for with an upper-body injury.

The Golden Knights took a 3-2 series lead with with overtime victory on Tuesday. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday night in Anaheim.
