Hurricanes’ Blake fined for slashing Ducks’ Trouba

Published:

Carolina Hurricanes winger Jackson Blake has been fined $2,358.94, the maximum allowable amount under the CBA, for slashing Ducks defenceman Jacob Trouba during Thursday’s 4-1 win over Anaheim.

Blake was assessed a two-minute minor for slashing at 9:36 of the third period for the infraction.

The 22-year-old Blake has one goal and three assists in four games with the Hurricanes this season. He played 80 games last year, recording 17 goals and 34 points.

Blake was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Canes and was signed to an eight-year, $45 million extension by the club this past offseason.
