Winnipeg Jets

Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey was on the ice Monday morning with skills coach Matt Larke as he continues to recover from an upper-body injury that has cost him one game.

Morrissey was injured in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Colorado when he missed a bodycheck and crashed into the glass in the opening period.
He was seen holding his right hand as he left the ice and returned briefly in the second period before leaving the game for good.
The 31-year-old has three assists in four games this season after recording 55 points in 77 games last season.

Montreal Canadiens

Forward Oliver Kapanen and defenceman Mike Matheson did not take part in practice on Monday for what the team described as a therapy day.

Kapanen has not suited up in a game this season due to an undisclosed injury. Matheson has recorded one assist in five games this season.

The Canadiens' next game is Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Canadiens practiced with the following forward lines:

Caufield | Suzuki | Slafkovsky
Kreider | Newhook | Anderson
Bolduc | Danault | Texier
             | Evans | Dach

Pittsburgh Penguins

Penguins defenceman Trevor van Riemsdyk (lower-body) is day-to-day and is not at practice Monday.

Florida Panthers

Head coach Paul Maurice says Jacob Markstrom will get the start this afternoon against the Buffalo Sabres. He is 2-1-1 this season with a 1.70 GAA and .916 save percentage.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals have recalled defenceman Justin Holl from the AHL's Hershey Bears and placed blueliner Matt Roy on injured reserve.

The team also announced that defenceman Rasmus Sandin has been placed on long-term injured reserve.

Holl, 34, registered one goal and one assist in nine games with the St. Louis Blues last season.

Forwards Pierre-Luc Dubois (illness) and Alex Tuch (maintenance) were not at Monday's practice.

Dubois did not play on Sunday due to his illness.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils have placed forward Connor Brown (lower-body) on injured reserve retroactive to Sept. 28, making him eligible to return at any time. The team has recalled Stefan Noesen from the AHL's Utica Comets.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe says Brown has been skating on his own as he continues to work his way back to action.

Forward Luke Evangelista was not at Monday's practice.

Goaltender Nico Daws will likely get the start tonight against the Ottawa Senators.
