Injury Updates
Toronto Maple Leafs
Sergei Bobrovsky will get the start in net on Saturday night with the Toronto Maple Leafs set to host the New York Islanders.
Bobrovsky, 38, is set to make his second straight start after he made 30 saves on 35 shots in Thursday's overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
The Russian net-minder carries a record of 1-2-2 on the year with a .902 save percentage and a 3.33 goals-against average after joining Toronto on a three-year deal over the summer.
Toronto also announced Saturday that forward John Tavares is week-to-week with a lower-body injury suffered Thursday against Buffalo.
Joining Tavares on the sidelines is defenceman Chris Tanev, who was labelled week-to-week on Thursday with an upper-body injury suffered in Saturday's win over the Colorado Avalanche.
After being placed on IR retroactive to Oct. 10 this week, Tanev was spotted skating alone by TSN's Mark Masters Saturday morning ahead of the Leafs' game against New York.
The shutdown defenceman was limited to just 11 games last season before having his campaign cut short following core muscle surgery. He has one assist in six games played to begin the year.
