Veteran forward John Tavares and veteran defenceman Chris Tanev are still both considered week-to-week with their injuries.
Tanev, who hasn't played since Oct. 10 with a lower-body injury, skated on Friday and will travel with the team as they get set to take on the high-flying Edmonton Oilers on Saturday in Alberta.
Tavares, also out with a lower-body injury, will not travel to Edmonton. He hasn't been on the ice since suffering his injury on Oct. 15.
The 36-year-old Tavares has two goals and five assists over seven games this season, his ninth in Toronto.
Tanev, also 36, has one assist through six games this season. He played only 11 games in 2025-26, his second season in Toronto, due to an upper-body injury.
In other injury news, defencemen Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rifai were both placed on the Injured Reserve, resulting in defencemen Cole McWard and Dakota Mermis being recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
Veteran goalie Sergei Bobrovsky did not practice on Friday as it was a scheduled off-day.
Toronto has won three straight games ahead of a four-game Western road trip with stops in Edmonton, Calgary, Seattle and Vancouver.
