Goaltender Cooper Black has been recalled from the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.

Black, 25, is 2-1-0 with a .919 save percentage and 2.67 goals-against average in three appearances with Charlotte this season.

He was previously called up by the Panthers from Oct. 13 to 16 but did not appear in any games.

Black's recall comes after starting goaltender Jacob Markstrom left practice early on Monday.

The 36-year-old is 3-1-1 with an .897 save percentage and 2.21 GAA in six games this season. He missed two games last week with an undisclosed injury.

The Panthers kick off a four-game road trip on Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators.

Washington Capitals

Goaltender Logan Thompson is off the ice first as he will start tonight against the Los Angeles Kings, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

The 29-year-old is 4-2-0 with a .910 save percentage and 2.69 GAA in six appearances this season. He made 29 saves in his last outing on Oct. 17 in a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.

Forward Pierre-Luc Dubois is on the ice for the morning skate in a non-contact jersey but remains on the injured reserve due to illness. Dubois has missed four straight games for the Capitals.

Silber also says that defenceman Matt Roy is off the ice early and appears he'll be back in the lineup tonight. Roy has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury, playing in just two games this season.

Justin Sourdif did not skate today after it was announced on Monday that he would not play against the Kings due to illness.
