The Winnipeg Jets are waiting to learn the severity of the upper-body injury defenceman Josh Morrissey suffered in Wednesday’s win over the Colorado Avalanche.
Morrissey left Wednesday’s game in the first period with the injury, returned to play one shift to start the second period and was then ruled out.
He looked to have sustained the injury on an attempted check late in the first period when he went hard into the glass. He appeared to jam his hand or wrist and was favouring his right arm after the play.
“Just an upper-body. We’ll check on it tomorrow and see how it is,” head coach Scott Arniel said after the game via Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Morrissey had one shot on goal and one blocked shot in 9:32 of ice time before departing.
The 31-year-old blueliner has three assists in four games so far this season.
Winnipeg has a 3-0-1 record to start the season and will host the Anaheim Ducks on Friday and then a enjoy a break before hosting the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
