Winnipeg Jets’ defenceman Neal Pionk exited Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury and didn’t return.

Head coach Paul Maurice told reporters after the game the defenceman is out day-to-day.

The 30-year-old registered one hit in 2:05 of ice time in the first period before exiting the game.

Minnesota ended up beating the Jets 3-0 on Sunday with goaltender Jesper Wallstedt stopping all 32 shots.

In 20 games this season, the 6-foot, 190-pound defender has recorded one goal and four assists.

Pionk has been with the Jets since 2019, putting up 221 points in 455 games in Winnipeg.
