Kraken place McCann on injured reserve; Montour returns to team

Published:

Jared McCann scored 40 last season, one of a few Seattle players coming off career years. But with the Kraken winless through their first 3 games, Meghan Chayka explains why fans shouldn’t expect them to be a playoff team this year.

The Seattle Kraken have placed forward Jared McCann on the injured reserve list because of a lower-body injury, it was announced Saturday.

Additionally, the Kraken announced that defenceman Brandon Montour has returned to the team.

McCann has missed the last three games with the injury. He had three goals and one assist for four points in five games before going down.

Meanwhile, Montour is back with the team after missing the past four games after taking a leave of absence to attend to a family matter.

He has four assists in four games so far in 2025-26.

The Kraken sit second in the Pacific Division entering play Saturday with a record of 4-2-2, good for 10 points.
