Pittsburgh Penguins forward Andrei Kuzmenko was back on the ice with the team Friday following a leave of absence after the death of his father.
Kuzmenko was not in the lineup as the Penguins opened the season with a 7-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
He skated on the team’s fourth line Friday with Connor Dewar and Ben Kindel as the Penguins prepared to take on the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
The 30-year-old winger is entering his first season with the Penguins after joining the team on a one-year, $5 million contract this summer.
He spent the previous two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, posting 13 goals and 25 points in 52 games last year.
Kuzmenko made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks in 2022-23. He has 85 goals and 182 points in 271 career games.
