The Edmonton Oilers added to their forward depth on Wednesday, acquiring forward Filip Hallander from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenceman Spencer Stastney.
Hallander, 26, has one goal and two assists over two games this season with the Penguins.
The native of Sweden has two goals and five assists over 18 career games after being selected by the Penguins in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Hallander is in the final season of a two-year contract, featuring an $850,000 average annual value.
Stastney, 26, has not played this season with Oilers. He scored one goal over 36 games in 2025-26, his first season in Edmonton.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators, Stastney has tallied four goals and 15 assists over 177 career games with the Predators and Oilers
He is playing on a one-year, $1.525 million deal.
