Sabres activate F Zucker off IR; veteran set to make season debut

Published:

The Buffalo Sabres will be getting a big boost to their lineup on Wednesday, as veteran forward Jason Zucker has been activated off IR and will make his season debut against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 34-year-old Zucker is entering his 16th season in the NHL, and third with the Sabres. He played in 62 games a season ago and finished the campaign with 24 goals and 45 points. He contributed two goals and four points in 13 games in the postseason.

Zucker’s play helped the Sabres snap an NHL-record 14-season playoff drought.

Since joining the Sabres on a one-year deal ahead of the 2024-25 season, Zucker has produced two of his strongest seasons in the NHL - his 98 points over the past two seasons are the most in any two-season span since his 2017-19 seasons with the Minnesota Wild, where he recorded 106 points.

In 832 career NHL games with the Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, Arizona Coyotes, Nashville Predators and Sabres, Zucker has 241 goals and 468 points.

The Sabres enter Wednesday’s game against the Flyers at 4-3-2, sixth in the Atlantic Division with 10 points.
