Ottawa Senators defenceman left Saturday’s 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers after the second period and did not return for the third period. According to head coach Travis Green, the Sens’ captain is nursing an upper-body injury.
He appeared to be favouring his right wrist area after a collision with Flyers’ forward Trevor Zegras in the first period.
The 29-year-old played 16 shifts and 12:03 TOI before exiting. He was -1 and recorded one shot on goal before exiting.
In nine games entering Saturday’s contest, Chabot had one goal and three assists. Over his 578-game career with the Senators, the Sainte-Marie, Que. native has recorded 79 goals and 339 points.
The Senators are already without blueliner Jake Sanderson, who has appeared in just one game this season. However, the American Olympian is expected to return in the near future, possibly in time for Wednesday’s date with the Florida Panthers and the return of former captain Brady Tkachuk, according to Post Media’s Bruce Garrioch.
