The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has fined Ottawa Senators defenceman Tyler Kleven $4,166.67, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann.

Late in the third period of last night’s contest between the two clubs, Kleven cross-checked McCann in the face.
Kleven was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct as he (slashing) and McCann (roughing) both received off-setting minor penalties on the play.
Kleven had one goal in 19:13 of ice time in the 7-4 win on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has two goals and 12 points in 57 games this season while averaging 16:35 of ice time.
A second-round (44th overall) pick by Ottawa in 2020, Kleven is in the first season of a two-year, $3.2 million contract.
