Sens recall G Johansson with Ullmark sidelined

The Ottawa Senators made a roster move concerning their goaltending on Tuesday afternoon ahead of their game against the Red Wings in Detroit.

Goalie Jonas Johansson was recalled from the AHL’s Belleville Senators while defenceman was loaned back to the minors.

The transaction comes after head coach Travis Green revealed starting goalie Linus Ullmark “tweaked something” during Monday’s win against the Boston Bruins.

Backup Samuel Ersson replaced Ullmark for the third period against the Bruins.

Johansson, a 31-year-old Swede, has 105 games of NHL experience with the Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, posting a 3.29 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage.

The Sens are 2-0 to start the 2026-27 season.
