Sharks sign F Ostapchuk to four-year contract extension

The San Jose Sharks signed forward Zack Ostapchuk to a four-year contract extension on Saturday.

The deal has an average annual value of $2.35 million, the team announced.

Ostapchuk, 23, scored four goals and added three assists over 59 games with the Sharks in 2025-26, his first full season with the franchise.

The native of St. Alberta, Alta., also spent 11 games with the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda, scoring three goals and one assist.

Ostapchuk was acquired from the Ottawa Senators, the team that selected him in the second-round of the 2021 NHL Draft, ahead of the 2025 Trade Deadline

Over 122 career games with the Sharks and Sens, Ostapchuk has tallied five goals and six assists.

He also helped Canada win back-to-back gold medals at the World Junior Hockey Championship in 2022 and 2023, scoring three goals and three assists over 14 total games.
