The Dallas Stars announced Friday that the team has signed winger David Perron to a one-year, $850,000 contract.

Perron, 38, finished last season with the Detroit Red Wings after he was acquired from the Ottawa Senators for a draft pick prior to the trade deadline.

He had 13 goals and 28 points in 65 games split between the Senators and Red Wings last season.

The six-foot winger is coming off a two-year, $4 million contract that carried a cap hit of $2 million.

Drafted 26th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2007, Perron has 332 goals and 812 points in 1,239 games split between the Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Red Wings, and Senators.

A 19-year veteran of the NHL, Perron helped the Blues to their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 2019, recording seven goals and 16 points.
