The Canadiens have placed forward Nate Schnarr on waivers.
Schnarr, 23, was acquired by Montreal at the 2022 trade deadline from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for goaltender Andrew Hammond. In 63 AHL games last season split between the Utica Comets and Laval Rocket, Schnarr had 17 goals and 36 points.
The team also signed goaltender Jake Allen on Saturday to a two-year, $7.7 million contract extension. In 35 games last season, he had a 9-20-4 record, 3.30 goals against average and .905 save percentage.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have placed forward Seth Griffith on waivers with the intention to assign him to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.

Griffith, 29, signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Oct. 9, 2020 and appeared in one game with Edmonton last season.
Drafted 131st overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, Griffith has 8 goals and 19 points in 80 career games split between the Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, and Oilers.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights announced that they have placed forwards Byron Froese and Sheldon Rempal, defenseman Brayden Pachal, and goaltender Michael Hutchinson on waivers with the intent of assigning them to the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights.
Hutchinson was acquired by Vegas on July 13 when he signed a one-year, two-way contract. He appeared in two game with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season and ended with a 0-1-0 record
Froese was acquired by the Golden Knights on July 13 when he signed a two-year, two-way contract. Last season he had 20 goals and 37 points in 55 games with the AHL's Stockton Heat
Rempal signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Golden Knights on July 13 and scored 33 goals and 69 points with the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks last season.
Pachal was acquired as an undrafted free agent by the Golden Knights in September of 2019 and signed a one-year extension on July 28. He registered two goals and 11 points in 65 games with the Silver Knights last season.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets announced they have placed forwards Mikey Eyssimont and Jeff Mallott, and defencemen Leon Gawanke and Ashton Sautner on waivers with the intention of assigning them to the AHL's Manitobay Moose on Saturday.
