ZURICH — Canadian sprint star Andre De Grasse finished third in the men’s 200 metres Thursday at the Diamond League meet in Zurich.

The 2020 Olympic champion from Markham, Ont., crossed in 20.03 seconds.

American Kenny Bednarek, a two-time Olympic silver medallist in the 200, won in a world-leading 19.62 seconds.

South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile was second in 19.82.

De Grasse, 31, was part of Canada’s silver-medal 4x100 relay team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this month.

The Zurich meet is the final stop on the Diamond League circuit before next month’s final in Brussels.
