Four AFC Toronto players and four Ottawa Rapid players are named in the Northern Super League’s inaugural Team of the Season.

The league leaders and runners-up tied with the highest number of representatives in the team that was voted on by the league’s players.

Toronto, who finished atop the table on 51 points after the regular season, is represented by defender Colby Barnett, midfielder Emma Regan and forwards Kaylee Hunter and Esther Okoronkwo.

The Rapid, runners-up on 39 points, are represented by defenders Jyllissa Harris and Olivia Scott, midfielder Lee Min-A and Golden Boot-winning forward Delaney Baie Pridham, who finished the season with 18 goals.

Halifax Tides goalkeeper Anika Toth got the nod in net, while Stephanie Hill of the Montreal Roses is the fourth member of the backline.

Joining Regan and Lee in a three-player midfield is Meggie Dougherty Howard of the Calgary Wild.

The league’s first-ever playoffs get underway on Saturday with the first legs of a pair of two-legged semi-finals ties when the Roses host Toronto and the Rapid welcomes the Vancouver Rise on Nov. 4. The return fixtures are set for Nov. 8 and Nov. 9, respectively.

The NSL Final is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15 at Toronto’s BMO Field
