Canadian goalkeeper Owen Goodman is joining Dundee Football Club of the Scottish Premiership on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace, it was announced Saturday morning.
The move is subject to international clearance.
Goodman was Canada’s third goalie at the 2026 FIFA World Cup behind Maxime Crepeau and Dayne St. Clair. Goodman did not see action as Canada reached the Round of 16.
The 22-year-old signed his first professional contract with Crystal Palace at the age of 17 in 2021 and has had loan stints with Colchester United, AFC Wimbledon, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley. During his time at AFC Wimbledon, Goodman won the League 2 golden glove and recorded a clean sheet in the playoff final as the club was promoted to League 1.
“When Dundee came in, it was just something I had to go for,” Goodman said as part of a news release announcing the move.
“I’m excited for a new challenge and the next step in my career, and I’m happy to try something new. The pitch looks unbelievable, and everyone has been really welcoming so I’m excited for it all.”
Alongside the announcement, the club released a video of Goodman in his new threads, where the Canadian flag can be seen on the outside of his gloves.
