A’ja Wilson is once again the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player.

The Las Vegas Aces superstar has won the honour for a fifth time and for the third consecutive season.

The 30-year-old centre appeared in 41 games this season. She averaged 26.2 points on .527 shooting with 9.4 boards and 3.2 assists over 32.0 minutes a night. Wilson shot .404 from three.

Wilson took 65 of 74 first-place votes and finished with 713 overall points. Minnesota Lynx star and WNBA Rookie of the Year Olivia Miles finished as runner-up with 442 points. Indiana Fever duo Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark finished in third- and fourth-place with 287 and 212 points, respectively. Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty rounded out the top-five with 171.

Wilson joins Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Peyton Manning and Barry Bonds as the only athletes to have won at least five MVPs.

Wilson’s Aces find themselves in a 2-0 hole in their best-of-five semi-final series with the Golden State Valkyries. Game 3 shifts back to Vegas on Friday night.
