Tempo set to host Mercury at Scotiabank Arena on TSN

Published:

The Toronto Tempo will host the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday afternoon, the first game in franchise history to take place at Scotiabank Arena.

Watch pre-game coverage at 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT on TSN1/3, TSN.ca and the TSN App.

The Tempo are coming off a promising 125-97 rout of the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, highlighted by star guard Marina Mabrey trying an WNBA record with a 53-point performance.

Mabrey went 17-28 from the field, including an incredible 9-18 from behind the three-point line in 32 minutes of action.

The 29-year-old Notre Dame product has been one of the best players in the WNBA this season, the Tempo’s debut campaign in the WNBA.

Mabrey is averaging 21.2 points while owning a 45.9 field goal percentage and shooting 40.3 per cent from three.

The win over the Sparks moved the Tempo back to .500 on the season at 9-9 as they sit in the eighth and final playoff spot.

The Mercury are 6-13 on the season and are led by veteran guard Kahleah Copper, who is averaging 19.7 points over 18 games.

Alyssa Thomas will miss Saturday’s game in Toronto after she was suspended one game for a flagrant foul on Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark earlier his week.

Toronto owns a 5-3 home record in 2026.
