Gushue described as “Mount Rushmore” skip in curling

Six-time Canadian men’s curling champion Brad Gushue played his final Brier in his hometown of St. John’s, N.L. Competitors gave their thoughts during the tournament on what the world and Olympic champion has done for the sport of curling:

Koe, Jacobs, Gushue, Dunstone remain undefeated at Montana’s Brier

Alberta’s Kevin Koe improved to 2-0 with a 6-4 win over Saskatchewan’s Mike McEwen at the Montana’s Brier on Sunday. In the afternoon session, Canada’s Brad Jacobs earned an 11-2 win over Nunavut’s Derek Samagalski, while Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue scored an 8-4 win over Ontario’s Jayden King.

Gallant set for double dose of Olympic curling

There won’t be many Canadian athletes at the Winter Olympics busier than Brett Gallant, who will chase history by playing in both disciplines, Bob Weeks writes.
