Way back in June, Gavin McKenna officially became the most recent 1st overall pick at the NHL Entry Draft. While Toronto Maple Leafs fans cannot wait to see what the former Penn State superstar can do at the NHL level, we had a few questions of our own.
To what extent do his hockey skills transcend?
Ahead of the draft, McKenna joined Jesse and Eric on the ice at the Cwench Hydration Centre in Etobicoke to give us some answers. It’s safe to say the drill we put him through is like nothing he’s ever done before. The skills themselves were simple, but we eliminated his ability to see!

Okay, so turns out even the best in the world have trouble when you take away their line of sight. While McKenna got close to nailing a few of the skills in impressive fashion, the blindfold proved to be a little too much to overcome.
In fact, it was potentially more difficult to overcome than five actual beer leaguers.
Luckily for him, blindfolds are usually kept far, far away from NHL locker rooms.
