Macklin Celebrini put the league on notice during his rookie campaign in 2024-25, recording nearly a point per game pace with 63 points in 70 games played. That set the table for 2025-26, when Celebrini put up a ridiculous 115 points over 82 games.
That, in itself, is undeniably a breakout season. But the absolute cherry on top came when it was announced that Celebrini would don the cover of an NHL franchise game.
EA Sports announced that Celebrini would be the main feature on NHL 27, solidifying his assent to stardom even further. Fresh off the selection, Macklin joined Jesse to discuss the honour.
Celebrini becomes the first San Jose Shark to become an NHL cover athlete since Owen Nolan had the honour for NHL 2001.
