See how Phil Kessel did at his latest 2019 World Series of Poker event

Published:

Phil Kessel has made it no secret over the years that he likes to enjoy himself in the offseason and one of his main past times is playing a good game of poker.

Several times we have seen him at World Series of Poker tables and 2019 is no different. Just last week, Kessel was competing in a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event in Vegas. He ended up coming out with a decent finish in the event as well, collecting $2,357 – his biggest win at the WSOP to date. That was only 153rd place at the event, but when there are 1,216 entries, that’s pretty good.

He was seen again with his Canadian friend Daniel Negreanu, so perhaps he’s picking up some good tips.

Apparently Kessel isn’t done yet either.

He mentioned in an interview with Poker Central that he also planned on playing in a couple more tournaments. However, unless he has gone unlisted in those, he has not attended. The fun part is that if he ever makes it to the final tables of one of these bigger tournaments, he might end up on TV in some way, which would be a treat for everyone.

We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for if he ends up on TV, because if Kessel playing basketball was any indication, we love seeing him outside of hockey.
