Ohio State is the top-ranked team in the AP Poll for the seventh week in a row.

After another week of notable upsets, the Buckeyes are also an obvious favourite to repeat as FBS champions.

Ohio State is +300 to win the College Football Playoff National Championship at FanDuel entering Week 8.

Alabama (+700), Miami (+850), and Indiana (+950) are the only other schools with shorter than 10-to-1 odds.

Oregon’s title odds have ballooned to +1200 at FanDuel.

Pre-season favourite Texas is up to +1600 at FanDuel.

Penn State just fired head coach James Franklin and is a complete afterthought at +100000 with plenty of reason to believe things could get a lot worse before they get better for the Nittany Lions this season.

On the flip side, the Hoosiers are the biggest riser after their upset win at Oregon last Saturday.

Indiana was +215 to upset the previously undefeated Ducks at Autzen Stadium.

It’s remarkable how much the perspective has changed around Oregon’s double-overtime win at Penn State at the end of September.

First up, LSU and Vanderbilt will kick things off on TSN+ just after noon Eastern.

The Commodores are a 2.5-point favourite at FanDuel.

It’s the first time Vanderbilt is a favourite against a ranked opponent since the FBS/FCS split back in 1978.

Anybody who bet Garrett Nussmeier to be the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft back in September must regret it now after seeing his odds balloon to +1900 as the sixth choice at FanDuel.

The Commodores were tied with Alabama at the half a couple of weeks ago but were dominated the rest of the way in a 30-14 loss at Tuscaloosa.

Still, Vanderbilt is 5-1 this season with a home win over South Carolina as they continue a tough stretch of games.

They’ve had two weeks to rest and recover for this highly anticipated match-up against the Tigers.

It will be up to a banged-up Nussmeier to lead LSU to an upset win on the road.

The Commodores will have FirstBank Stadium in Nashville absolutely rocking for this game as they try to secure their first win over the Tigers since 1990.

A year ago, Nussmeier threw for 332 yards and a touchdown in a 24-17 win over Vanderbilt at home.

This time around, I’ll take a chance on Diego Pavia to outshine Nussmeier and help Vanderbilt secure their biggest win of the season at home.

I’ll take the Commodores to win by a field goal and play Vanderbilt -2.5 as a FanDuel Best Bet.

Meanwhile, all the upsets among the top teams in college football have opened the door for Alabama to reemerge as the favourite to win the SEC (+165) and the second choice to win the College Football Playoff National Championship (+700) at FanDuel.

The Tide are the best one-loss team in terms of strength of schedule.

Alabama is an 8.5-point favourite for this week’s SEC clash with Tennessee.

You can watch that game on TSN2 at 7:30 PM ET.

The Tide have covered the spread in six straight home games, including a win over Vanderbilt two weeks ago.

Alabama followed that victory up with a hard-fought win at Missouri last week.

Per the FanDuel traders, 69 per cent of the bets are on the Vols to cover as an 8.5-point underdog.

Tennessee has won two of its previous three games against the Tide, but both wins were at home.

The Vols haven’t won a game at Tuscaloosa since 2003.

Alabama has won 15 consecutive home games – tied with Boise State for the longest active streak in the FBS.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Georgia will clash in another highly anticipated showdown between ranked SEC teams on Saturday.

You can watch that game at 3:30 PM ET on TSN2.

The Rebels are undefeated through six games, but this will be their toughest test yet as a 7.5-point underdog.

Per the FanDuel traders, 81 per cent of the bets are on Ole Miss to cover the spread getting more than a TD.

While I was tempted to take the points with the Rebels earlier in the week, I’m going to stay away from this one.

I’ll parlay Alabama to win outright with Texas Tech to beat Arizona State outright at -114 odds.

Hopefully, we can go 2-0 with our FanDuel Best Bets for Saturday October 18th, 2025.

Enjoy the football, everyone!
