The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Wednesday that 1989 Grey Cup MVP Chuck Klingbeil has died at the age of 52.

Following his stint in the CFL, Klingbeil, a defensive tackle, played in 78 games over five seasons with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL, recording 242 tackles and 7.5 sacks.
He recovered a fumble from Green Bay Packers quarterback Don Majkowski for a touchdown in what turned out to be a 16-13 victory and the 300th victory of head coach Don Shula’s career.
A cause for Klingbeil’s death was not immediately provided.
