Burke to return as Redblacks’ general manager

Ottawa Redblacks general manager Shawn Burke and CEO Mark Goudie talk to the media about their decision to fire head coach Paul LaPolice, what they are looking for in their next coach and how the team can move forward.

Shawn Burke will return as general manager of the Ottawa Redblacks, according to TSN 1200’s AJ Jakubec.

The Redblacks finished the season 4-14, last in the CFL, after losing in the East semifinal to the Toronto Argonauts last season.

Burke was put at the helm of the club in December of 2021. The Redblacks posted back-to-back 4-14 seasons under Burke before making the playoffs with a 9-8-1 record in 2024.

Prior to his stint in Ottawa, Burke spent over 10 years in various roles with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, including assistant general manager and senior director of player personnel and co-manager of football Operations
