Collaros announced as Blue Bombers starter for Week 11; Oliveira a game-time decision

Published:

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have Zach Collaros back in the lineup for their Week 11 showdown against the Ottawa Redblacks, as the team announced Collaros as the starter on their depth chart.

You can watch the Redblacks battle the Blue Bombers LIVE on TSN3/4/5, streaming on TSN.ca and the TSN App, with coverage beginning at 8p.m. ET / 5p.m. PT.

Collaros, 37, was injured during the team’s 14-13 victory in Week 5 over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on July 5 after he was sacked by Ticats linebacker Reggie Stubblefield in the second quarter.

Canadian rookie quarterback Taylor Elgersma finished the game in relief of Collaros and recently acquired pivot Dru Brown started the team’s next four games, going 2-2 while throwing for 1,085 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

Collaros is in his sixth season in Winnipeg and helped the team to two Grey Cup titles and four Grey Cup appearances.

The two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player has 985 passing yards on 74 completions with five touchdowns and three interceptions in four games this season.

Brady Oliveira could miss Friday’s game against the Redblacks

Also on the depth chart release, starting running back Brady Oliveira is listed as a game-time decision as he is dealing with an ankle injury.

As TSN’s Danielle Bain reports, Oliveira was a limited participant in Monday’s practice session, but was unable to take part in the following sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

The 28-year-old Oliveira ranks third in the CFL in rushing this season with 658 yards, and has four total touchdowns on the campaign. He carried 19 times for 107 yards in the Blue Bombers’ 35-19 loss against the BC Lions in their last game in Week 9.

Michael Chris-Ike is listed as the backup. He has eight carries for 81 yards in 35 career CFL games.
