Collaros’ status in question as Brown leads Bombers offence at practice

Published:

Quarterback Dru Brown led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers during their start of the week practice session, indicating the health of Zach Collaros could be in question for Friday’s matchup with the Toronto Argonauts.

As TSN’s Danielle Bain points out, Collaros left the Banjo Bowl game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sept. 12 in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury.

The Bombers were on a bye last week.

Collaros was 13-of-19 for 175 yards and a touchdown compared to two interceptions before exiting. Brown was 4-of-5 for 46 yards in relief as the Bombers went on to win 19-6.

Collaros was forced to miss four games earlier this season due to neck issues. He was placed on the six-game injured list and missed Weeks 6 to 9.

The 38-year-old Collaros has thrown for 2,204 yards and 11 TDs alongside six interceptions in nine games so far this season.

Brown, 29, has appeared in 11 total games this season split between the Ottawa Redblacks and Bombers and has 1,148 yards passing with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Bombers enter their Week 17 showdown against the Argos at 7-6 and currently sit fourth in the Western Division.
