BC Lions fullback Jacob Bond has been suspended two games for violating the Canadian Football League and CFL Players’ Association’s joint drug policy, it was announced on Wednesday.
Per the league’s release, Bond tested positive for the banned substance D-amfetamine, which is classified as a non-specified stimulant on the policy’s Prohibited List.
The 23-year-old Bond is in his second season in the CFL, and has appeared in eight games this year, primarily on special teams.
A native of Terrace, B.C., Bond is an alumnus of the Canadian Junior Football League, where he played for the Okanagan Sun.
The surging Lions play their next game against the CFL’s top team, the Montreal Alouettes, on Friday. The Lions have won five straight to move into a playoff spot in the West Division at 6-5.
