Deontai Williams Sr. will be staying in the BC Lions fold.
The team announced a two-year extension for the defensive back on Thursday. The new deal takes Williams, who will be 31 next week, through 2028.
A native of Jacksonville, Williams is in his second season with the team. In 13 games this season, Williams has recorded 57 combined tackles, including three for a loss, eight passes knocked down, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a pick. Williams appeared in 18 games a season ago, recording 73 defensive tackles.
Williams previously suited up for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, appearing in 27 games across 2023 and 2024.
Undrafted out of Nebraska, Williams attended training camp with the Seattle Seahawks in 2022.
Williams is the son of former Edmonton Elks, Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns DB Roosevelt Williams.
