Geno Lewis’ time with the Ottawa Redblacks is over.
The three-time CFL All-Star receiver was released by Ottawa on Sunday.
Lewis, 33, had played in six games for the Redblacks this season, hauling in 20 catches for 231 yards.
The nine-year veteran had signed a contract extension with Ottawa over the winter that would have run through the 2027 season.
Lewis joined Ottawa as a free agent ahead of the 2025 campaign, catching 75 passes for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns. It was his sixth career 1,000-yard season.
The Wilkes-Barre, Penn. native began his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes in 2017, playing five years there before joining the Edmonton Elks in 2023.
In 122 career games, Lewis has 493 catches for 7.504 yards and 47 touchdowns, earning three All-Star selections and the Terry Evanshen Trophy in 2024 as the East Division’s Most Outstanding Player.
The Redblacks fell to 0-7 under head coach Ryan Dinwiddie on Friday night with a 34-13 loss to the Alouettes in Week 9.
