CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed star defensive lineman Clarence Hicks to a three-year contract, the CFL club announced Wednesday.

Hicks had been eligible to become a free agent on Feb. 10.

The 27-year-old from Pensacola, Fla., was a West Division all-star and Calgary’s nominee for outstanding defensive player in 2025.

He had a team-leading 12 sacks, 28 tackles, two forced fumbles and six knockdowns in 18 games last season, and added another three defensive tackles in the Stampeders’ loss to B.C. in the West Division semifinal.

Hicks signed with the Stampeders in 2024. He has 42 defensive tackles and 16 sacks in 36 career regular-season CFL games.
