The Canadian Hockey League playoffs continue Friday as the Western Hockey League and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s finals progress to their respective Game 5s.

The Everett Silvertips have a chance to secure their spot in the Memorial Cup with a win over the Prince Albert Raiders. Meanwhile, the Moncton Wildcats and Chicoutimi Saguenéens enter Friday’s Game 5 with the series locked at 2-2.

Here is a look at the two series:

Western Hockey League

The Everett Silvertips have a chance to claim the first Ed Chynoweth Cup in franchise history as they take on the Prince Albert Raiders from the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert on Friday.

This is Everett’s third appearance at the WHL Championship Series, previously falling to the Medicine Hat Tigers in 2004 and Swift Current Broncos in 2018.

Everett enters Friday’s action with a 3-1 series lead over Prince Albert after securing a 5-2 win in Game 4 for their third straight win.

Seattle Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen continued his dominance over the Raiders, recording a goal and an assist, bringing his series total up to four goals and nine points in four games.

The 6-foot-3 centre leads the WHL playoffs with 14 goals and is tied with Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph for the postseason scoring lead with 27 points.

Phenom defenceman Landon DuPont also added two assists in the win, while 2026 NHL prospect Matias Vanhanen provided a goal and assist.

Detroit Red Wings prospect Carter Bear, Florida Panthers prospect Shea Busch, and veteran winger Rylan Gould also scored for the Silvertips.

Goaltender Anders Miller continued his playoff dominance, making 31 stops to improve his record to 15-2. He continues to lead all goaltenders with a .933 save percentage and 1.91 goals-against average in the postseason.

Captain Justice Christensen and Dallas Stars draft pick Brandon Gorzynski provided the offence for the Raiders.

Rudolph added an assist in the loss as he continues to showcase himself for the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo. The 6-foot-2, right-shot defenceman is ranked No. 8 on TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button’s March draft list.

Netminder Michal Orsulak kept Prince Albert within striking distance until late in the third period, stopping 30 of 34 shots.

If necessary, the series will shift back to Everett in Game 6 on Sunday, which can be seen LIVE at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on TSN1/4, TSN.ca, and the TSN App.

The winner of this series will advance to the Memorial Cup in Kelowna, representing the WHL as its champion. They will begin the tournament on May 23 against the QMJHL’s champion, which can be seen live on TSN.

Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League

The QMJHL Championship Series is now a best-of-three with the Moncton Wildcats and Chicoutimi Saguenéens locked in a 2-2 series tie entering Friday’s Game 5.

Chicoutimi are in their first QMJHL final since 1997 and are looking for the first Gilles-Courteau Trophy in 32 years. The Wildcats are the defending QMJHL champions and are trying to become the first-back-to-back winners since the Saint John’s Sea Dogs won in 2011 and 2012.

The Wildcats enter Game 5 after rallying to comeback from a two-goal deficit in the third period to defeat Chicoutimi 4-3 on Wednesday, tying the series up 2-2.

Utah Mammoth prospect Gabe Smith was the star offensively, recording two goals and an assist in the win. He continues to lead the QMJHL playoffs in scoring with 18 goals and 30 points in 19 games.

First-year forward Rian Chudzinski was Wednesday’s hero, scoring the game winner with just under six minutes remaining in the third period.

Veteran winger Preston Lounsbury also provided two assists while defenceman Evan Dépatie also scored for the Wildcats.

Detroit Red Wings draft pick Rudy Guimond kept Moncton in position to make a comeback, making 22 of 25 stops in the win. He improves his record to 14-5 in the playoffs with a .917 save percentage and 2.21 GAA.

The Wildcats’ roster holds the top three players in postseason scoring, led by Smith. San Jose Sharks prospect Teddy Multryn sits just behind Smith with nine goals and 27 points while the QMJHL’s defenceman and rookie of the year Tommy Bleyl has six goals and 25 points.

Bleyl is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo and is ranked No. 39 on Button’s March draft list.

Veteran defenceman Peteris Bulans recorded a goal and an assist in the loss for Chicoutimi while captain Emmanuel Vermette and centre Nathan Lecompte also provided goals.

Ottawa Senators prospect Lucas Beckman took the loss after allowing four goals on 36 shots. He still leads the QMJHL postseason with a 1.82 GAA and a .924 save percentage.

Anaheim Ducks prospect Maxim Massé continues to lead the Saguenéens with six goals and 23 points to sit fourth in postseason scoring.
