In the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens and Moncton Wildcats meet in Game 3 with the series tied 1-1. While in the Western Hockey League, the series shifts to Prince Albert as the Everett Silvertips and Prince Albert Raiders battle for a 2-1 series lead.
Here is a look at all three CHL Championship Series:
Ontario Hockey League
The Kitchener Rangers are one game away from their fourth OHL championship and first since the 2007-08 campaign.
They took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Barrie Colts on Sunday, claiming a 4-3 double-overtime victory in Game 3.
Veteran forward Dylan Edwards was the star of the show for Kitchener, recording two goals and two assists, including the double-overtime winner.
Kitchener opened the scoring late in the first period thanks to a goal from Sam O’Reilly and the score remained 1-0 until halfway through the third frame.
At that point, the two teams traded three goals in 1:17, beginning with Colts forward Emil Hemming tying the game. Rangers’ defenceman Carson Campbell reclaimed Kitchener’s lead 47 seconds later, but Barrie forward William Schneid tied the game 36 seconds after that.
Late in the frame, Edwards appeared to put the final nail in the coffin for the Rangers, tallying with 1:12 remaining in the final frame.
Colts co-captain Kashawn Aitcheson then came to the rescue, scoring the tying goal in the dying seconds of the period for the second straight game and sending Game 3 to overtime.
After nothing was settled in the first overtime session, Edwards was the hero when he banged in a loose puck in the crease past Colts’ goalie Ben Hrebik to claim victory.
O’Reilly continued his dominance in the playoffs with a goal and three points in Sunday’s victory. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect and OHL MVP leads the Rangers with 16 goals and 27 points in the postseason sitting in a tie for second in playoff scoring with Hemming.
Netminder Christian Kirsch improved his playoff record to 15-2 after making 36 saves in the win. Hrebik was busy in the Colts’ net once again, stopping 46 of 50 shots in the loss.
If necessary, Game 5 of the series will take place on Thursday from the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, which can be seen LIVE at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on TSN 1/3, TSN.ca, and the TSN App.
Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League
The QMJHL Championship Series shifts to the Centre Georges-Vézina as the Chicoutimi Saguenéens host the Moncton Wildcats for Game 3 on Tuesday.
Chicoutimi tied up their best-of seven series at 1-1 on Saturday, defeating the Wildcats 3-2 in Game 2.
Rookie defenceman Liam Lefebvre provided the late-game heroics, breaking the 2-2 deadlock with just 3:08 remaining in the third period.
Veteran defenceman Jordan Tourigny and Seattle Kraken prospect Alexis Bernier also provided goals in the victory.
QMJHL MVP Maxim Masse picked up an assist in the win, bringing his playoff total to six goals and 22 points. The Ducks prospect now sits tied for third in playoff scoring behind Wildcats forwards Gabe Smith and Teddy Mutryn.
Ottawa Senators prospect Lucas Beckman continued his superb performance in net for the Saguenéens, stopping 25 shots for the win. He improved his playoff record to 13-3 and leads the QMJHL with a 1.57 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.
Veteran defencemen Niko Tournas and Evan Dépatie both provided goals for the Wildcats.
Detroit Red Wings prospect Rudy Guimond allowed three goals on 20 shots in the Moncton loss.
Game 4 will take place on Wednesday from the Centre Georges-Vézina in Chicoutimi, which can be seen LIVE at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on TSN4, TSN.ca, and the TSN App.
Western Hockey League
The Everett Silvertips and Prince Albert Raiders battle to take a 2-1 series lead in Game 4 of the WHL Championship Series on Tuesday.
Everett evened up the series at 1-1 on Friday after routing Prince Albert 6-2 in Game 2.
Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen led the way for the Silvertips with a goal and three assists while Red Wings first-round pick Carter Bear scored a pair of goals.
Veteran defenceman Kayd Ruedig also provided a goal and two assists while forward Rylan Gould and Jesse Heslop also scored in the victory.
Phenom defenceman Landon DuPont contributed two assists in the win, bringing his playoff total to four goals and 20 points. The Calgary native is a favourite to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2027 NHL Draft and trails only Raiders blueliner Daxon Rudolph among defencemen scoring in the playoffs.
Rudolph also recorded two assists in the loss, bringing his WHL playoff leading total to nine goals and 26 points in 17 games. He will not be available to the Raiders on Tuesday after he was suspended one game for a cross-check that earned him a five-minute major and a game misconduct at the end of Game 2.
The 6-foot-2, right-shot defenceman is ranked No. 8 on TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button’s March draft list.
Rookie blueliner Brock Cripps and captain Justice Christensen provided the goals for Prince Albert.
Anders Miller stopped 37 of 39 shots in the Everett victory, improving his playoff record to 13-2. The 6-foot-1 netminder leads the WHL playoffs with a 1.89 goals-against average and .934 save percentage among goaltenders who have appeared in more than four games.
Prince Albert goaltender Michal Orsulak allowed five goals on 37 shots in the loss.
Game 4 will take place on Wednesday from the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, which can be seen LIVE at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT on TSN4, TSN.ca, and the TSN App.
