Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant continued their preparation for February’s Winter Olympics with an impressive victory on the Mixed Doubles Super Series in Moose Jaw on Sunday.

Peterman and Gallant - the married couple who will represent Canada at the 2026 Olympics in Italy - defeated Kadriana and Colton Lott of Gimli, Man., in the championship game, 7-6, scoring a single in the extra end for the victory.

The Lotts are one of the best mixed doubles duos on the planet, winning back-to-back Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships.

Red Deer’s Peterman and Gallant, who are two-time national champs, won all six of their games in Moose Jaw.

They will be one of the teams to beat at the Winter Games, alongside defending champions and hosts Amos Mosaner and Stefania Constantini of Italy as well as Scotland’s Bruce Mouat-Jennifer Dodds, Sweden’s Rasmus Wrana-Isabella Wrana, Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller-Briar Schwaller-Hürlimann, Estonia’s Harri Lill-Marie Kaldvee and Korey Dropkin-Cory Thiesse of the United States, among others.

Peterman and Gallant defeated Rachel Homan and Brendan Bottcher in the final of the Canadian Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials in early January.

Gallant will also represent Canada in men’s four-person curling as a member of Team Brad Jacobs.

Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris won the inaugural Olympic mixed doubles gold medal in 2018 before Homan and Morris missed the playoffs four years ago in Beijing.

The mixed doubles competition runs from Feb. 4-10 at the Cortina Olympic Stadium in Cortina D’Ampezzo.
