We all have mixed emotions — we’re sad that he won’t be around to “make the final” after this season, but we are happy for him as he moves into retirement after… pic.twitter.com/F7BfjK3BoY
What a legend. Congrats Vic on a half century of gifting us one of the smoothest voices and deliveries in broadcasting. #Makethefinal https://t.co/8FUpw13CiO

13 years ago, we wrote a really dumb song about a penalty. I needed someone who could pull off funny for the video. So I called Vic Rauter. Weird ask.

I don't know if there is a broadcaster in this country who is more synonymous with his/her sport than Vic is with curling. Classy, gracious, always prepared, and with his calls becoming part of the game. Curling will never be the same. Congrats Vic! https://t.co/ohYzcv5Cri

“Make the Final.” What a run by an absolute gentleman. Such a gifted pro and a kind human. Congrats Mr. Rauter. Fortunate to get to know you over the decades at TSN. Be well, enjoy the next chapter. https://t.co/oZhDlFbl8j

Multiple generations of an entire nation considered Vic the ultimate authority and voice of his sport. If the soundtrack of a curling moment had his signature timbre, it became A-list. Synonymous with his network and his sport, no one was held in higher esteem. Any broadcaster… https://t.co/c1x5rFzWtP

🐐 Vic you will be missed. ❤️ I’ll never forget being in a hospital bed in Edmonton battling cancer - listening to Vic, Ray - Linda & how they got me through those painful days of chemotherapy. The fact I got to work with him years later is a dream. 🐐 🥌 all the best my man! 🙏🏻 https://t.co/fa9TJL3sJP

Congrats on the run Victor. Sharing the radio booth with you provided a total of zero dull moments. Cheers my friend. https://t.co/tn0f6eqAhv
What a pro.. Just by osmosis, his soccer call helped formulate how I call those games. Even got the chance to do a few Sportscentres with him. https://t.co/nMT8TUwFau
