The regular season of the European League Championship Series Summer Split has come to a close and the playoff bracket is set.
G2 Esports finished at the top of the table for the second consecutive split with a 9-8-0 record for 35 points. G2 will wait in the semifinals for a matchup with one of the bottom four playoff teams. They will be joined in the semis by surprising upstart Splyce Pro (9-6-3).
Giants Gaming (8-3-7), Fnatic (7-6-4), H2k-Gaming (7-6-5) and Unicorns of Love (6-5-7) round out the rest of the playoffs.
In a shocking turn of events, two of the best teams from the 2016 Spring Split, Team Vitality (4-9-6) and Origen (2-8-8), find themselves in the bottom four and forced to fight for their lives in the promotional tournament.
The other two squads heading to the promotional tournament are EU LCS rookies FC Schalke 04 (3-9-7) and last-place ROCCAT (2-6-10).
