CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Steven Alker won the Rogers Charity Classic on Sunday for his second victory of the year and 12th overall on the PGA Tour Champions, beating Y.E. Yang with a 7-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff.
A day after matching the tournament record at Canyon Meadows with a 9-under 61, the 55-year-old Alker closed with a 5-under 65 to match Yang at 16-under 194. Yang shot a 63.
Alker, from New Zealand, also won the Cologuard Classic in March in Tucson, Arizona, beating Padraig Harrington on the first extra hole.
Jerry Kelly (63) and Zach Johnson (65) tied for third.
Second-round leader Ryan Armour had a 69 to tie for fifth at 13 under.
