Canadian Corey Conners is getting the call for the Internationals on Day 1 at the Presidents Cup Thursday from Medinah Country Club.
Conners will be paired with Colombia’s Nico Echavarria as one of the International team’s five groups heading out for Day 1 four-ball, going head-to-head against Justin Thomas and Jackson Koivun in the third match going off at 1:11 p.m. ET.
Presidents Cup rookie Nick Taylor, who was selected to the team alongside Conners, will sit out on Day 1.
Conners holds a career record of 0-3-0 in four-ball at the Presidents Cup, and a 2-7-0 record overall at the biennial event.
The Listowel, Ont. native has matched up against Thomas on two occasions - both coming at Quail Hollow in 2022 - losing 2&1 and 4&3 in foursomes play.
Conners earned his first points at the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal in 2024, winning a Day 2 foursomes match with fellow Canadian Mackenzie Hughes 6&5 over Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau, and a 5&3 Sunday singles win, also against Finau.
He held a 2-3-0 record at Royal Montreal while featuring in all five sessions for the International side.
The two-time PGA Tour winner is set for his third career appearance at the Presidents Cup this week as he looks to help end a streak of American dominance that has seen the U.S. win the past 10 playings of the event.
