DeChambeau affirms commitment to LIV in 2026, but not beyond

Will Bryson DeChambeau follow in Brooks Koepka’s footsteps and return to the PGA Tour?

Not in 2026, apparently.

The 32-year-old DeChambeau told Today’s Golfer’s Ben Parsons he intends to see out his LIV Golf contract in 2026, but he has “no idea what will happen in a year.”

On Monday, Koepka returned to the PGA as part of the newly created Returning Member Program. To be eligible, a player must have won two majors, meaning that only DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith qualify among current LIV golfers. The two-time US Open winner does not intend to take up the offer, which is valid until Feb. 2, at present.

“I’ve got a contract this year and that’s just going to be an ever-evolving conversation,” DeChambeau told Parsons. “Hopefully, I’m back next year. I’m excited for the potential of LIV. It just has to make sense for both sides, and we’ll move forward in a cool direction if that’s the case. I certainly don’t want to let [my Crushers GC teammates] down.”

Asked about the concessions Koepka made to return, including paying a $5 million fine and not being able to access the PGA Tour Enterprises for five years, DeChambeau said it took him by surprise.

“I was surprised,” he said. “I didn’t know he’d be willing to give that much back. That’s everybody’s prerogative. Everybody has their own wants and needs. Ultimately, for me, I see a tremendous value in [teammates] Charles [Howell], Paul [Casey], and Anirban [Lahiri], and what we’re doing across the globe. I’m excited.”

A nine-time PGA Tour winner, DeChambeau won one LIV event in 2025 and finished third on the tour money list.

The 2026 LIV season, which will now feature 72-hole tournaments, gets underway on February 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
