ATLANTA -- Justin Rose made easy work of the par-3 ninth hole at East Lake Golf Club, dunking his tee shot for an ace from 208 yards during Sunday's final round at the Tour Championship.
The hole has been the second-most difficult this week at East Lake.
After watching his soaring tee shot slam its way into the hole, Rose threw both arms in the air and mimicked a slam dunk in basketball. He high-fived playing partner Si Woo Kim and Kim's caddie, Manny Villegas.
Rose, 46, made up for two early bogeys with the fourth hole-in-one of his career to get back to even par in the round. He was tied for 13th at 8 under, six shots behind co-leaders Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.
With an intimidating uphill tee shot over a lake, the ninth had produced a scoring average of .077 above par this week, trailing only the opening hole. There were only three birdies before Rose's ace, along with 88 pars, 11 bogeys and one double-bogey.
It was the first time a PGA Tour golfer made an ace on the ninth since Xander Schauffele had one in the third round in 2019.
