World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler conceded a lengthy par putt in his Presidents Cup singles match Sunday against Nico Echavarria after a fan at Medinah Country Club yelled during the Colombian's swing earlier in the hole.
The fan yelled, "Go Scottie!" as Echavarria was swinging on the par-4 14th, causing him to push his tee shot 226 yards right. Scheffler intervened after it happened, telling the crowd, "There's no place for that," as Echavarria looked toward the fan.
Echavarria eventually hit his third shot over the hole and off the green. Scheffler, who got onto the green in regulation, missed a 19-foot birdie putt after conceding the 32-footer Echavarria faced.
As a result, both players walked off the 14th with a four.
Scheffler was 3 up at the time and went on to win, 2-and-1.
