Canadians Nick Taylor and Corey Conners will be playing the weekend at the PGA Championship.
While the official cut line has not yet been set, the pair each closed out their second rounds well inside the projected number and are in position to make a run at Aronimink Golf Club over the weekend.
Taylor, of Abbotsford, B.C., shot a 2-over 71 on Friday to put him at 1-over for the week after a 1-under opening round.
The five-time PGA Tour winner held his own despite windy conditions and a challenging course setup, parring all but two holes on the day.
Taylor sat in a tie for 38th at the conclusion of his round, five shots back of leader Aldrich Potgieter at 4-under.
Conners, a native of Listowel, Ont., came into Friday at 2-under just one shot off the lead but struggled to a 3-over 73 in Round 2. He made four bogeys and one birdie on his first nine holes and then rattled off nine straight pars on his second nine.
Unfortunately for rookie Sudarshan Yellamaraju of Mississauga, Ont., his tournament at the PGA Championship is likely over after struggling in both of the first two rounds.
The 24-year-old carded a 5-over 75 on Thursday, and things did not get much better on Friday.
Yellamaraju opened his front nine with bogeys on five of his first nine holes - including a double bogey on 18. The young golfer was able to score a pair of birdies wrapped around a bogey on his second half of the second round, but finished the day a disappointing 5-over.
Sitting at 10-over after two rounds, Yellamaraju will not make the cut to play in the weekend.
Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill was the lone Canadian still on the course after Taylor, Conners and Yellamaraju finished.
